Dragons Forced to Eat Humble Pie as Reject Gousto Wins a Further £1.2m of Funding

Dragons’ Den failure Gousto,which delivers organic food, has been given a £1.2million cash boost as it enjoys booming sales.

The firm, set up last year by former bankers Timo Schmidt and James Carter, both 29, sells boxes of organic, locally sourced ingredients, along with recipes.

It delivers 26,000 ‘meals’ a month in the UK and claims to be growing by more than 130 percent month-on-month.

After being turned down by the Dragons on the BBC show, the pair received £250,000 backing from investment platform Angel Co-fund, before raising the latest funding from MMC Ventures.
